Description
Origin: Lincang, Yunnan, China
Elevation: 1600–2100 m
Harvest: Spring
Forest Breeze comes from high mountain tea gardens in Lincang, Yunnan, at elevations of around 1,600–2,100 metres. Mountain mist, abundant diffused light and marked day–night temperature shifts allow the tea trees to grow slowly, bringing the tea a clear floral aroma, clean sweetness and a long, refreshing finish.
It is crafted by a Taiwanese tea maker who has spent many years working in Yunnan. While both the tea cultivar and the oolong-making techniques originate from Taiwan, the tea is shaped by the terroir of Lincang. Rather than reproducing a Taiwanese high mountain oolong, he gradually adapted the oxidation and roasting to suit the local environment.
The cup opens with notes of orchid, osmanthus, white peach and snow pear. Silky and juicy, it offers more body than a classic Taiwanese high mountain oolong, finishing with a gentle mountain freshness that lingers long after each sip.
